This challenge asks learners to search their own name and reflect on public information. Set clear expectations first: no one has to share personal search results aloud, and learners who find nothing public should understand that is a good outcome, not a failure.
If a learner discovers concerning content about themselves (impersonation, old accounts they forgot about, content shared without consent), this becomes a wellbeing and safeguarding conversation, not just a curriculum task. Follow your school's usual reporting routes.
Strong responses distinguish clearly between different online spaces and audiences, and choose a genuinely specific, realistic action rather than a vague statement like 'be more careful online'.
For learners with limited public online presence, allow the identity map to include family shared accounts, gaming profiles or school platforms. For more advanced learners, extend into a discussion of algorithmic profiling: what platforms infer about them beyond what they post.
